There were 4,644,235 visitors to the CCNS in 2008. (See NPS Table of CCNS Visitors 1964-2008.)

In August 2008 there were 1,018,411 CCNS visitors.  (See NPS Table of CCNS Visitors by Month and Category for 2008.)

Town to Vote on Wind Turbines in Park

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

The Annual Town Meeting will vote on articles authorizing electricity-generating wind turbines on Town-owned land in the National Seashore.

Article 30 - This Zoning By-law Revision allows Municipal Wind Turbines in the National Seashore Park District with a Special Permit granted by the Planning Board.

Article 31 -  This article would add a new section to our Zoning By-Laws that specifies
permit procedures for wind turbine use on municipally owned land within the NSP District, and was developed in collaboration between the Planning Board and the Energy Committee.  It attempts to cover all aspects of such a use as may be developed by the Town and any other entity, which would require special permit approval.

These articles are found on pages 26-33 of the Warrant.
